Description

The Knightsbridge SFR9905BCG is a 13A 1-gang switched socket with an integrated Bluetooth speaker and dual USB-A charging ports behind a brushed chrome screwless faceplate with a grey insert. The speaker sits behind a perforated grille on the right side of the plate and connects wirelessly to phones, tablets and computers for audio streaming. The two USB-A ports share a combined 2.4A output at 5V DC.

Designed for bedrooms, home offices, kitchens and hotel rooms where a single wall socket needs to provide mains power, device charging and audio playback without additional adapters or separate speakers. The socket fits a standard UK back box with a minimum depth of 35mm to accommodate the speaker module and wiring. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame for a clean finish with no visible fixings.

The brushed chrome finish is a directional grain applied to 201 stainless steel, giving a low-reflectivity metallic surface that suits contemporary and transitional interiors. The grey insert behind the faceplate provides contrast around the outlet and USB apertures. LED indicators on the USB ports show charging status: red while charging, green when complete, off when idle. The Bluetooth speaker operates independently of the mains socket, so audio can stream while the 13A outlet remains switched off.

The speaker pairs with phones, tablets and computers using standard Bluetooth wireless. Put the socket into pairing mode (consult the manual for the specific button sequence), select it from your device's Bluetooth menu, and audio will stream through the grille on the faceplate. What back box depth is required?

A minimum 35mm back box depth is needed to accommodate the speaker module and wiring. The screwless cover plate adds 9.3mm projection from the wall once fitted.

What's the USB charging output?

The two USB-A ports provide 5V DC at 2.4A shared output. If both ports are in use simultaneously, the 2.4A is divided between the two connected devices. LED indicators show red while charging, green when complete, and off when idle.

Can the speaker and socket be used independently?

Yes. The Bluetooth speaker streams audio regardless of whether the 13A mains socket is switched on or off, allowing background music or calls while the outlet remains isolated.
