The Knightsbridge CS9905BC combines a 13A switched socket, dual USB charging ports and a 3W RMS Bluetooth speaker behind a single brushed chrome faceplate with black insert. The speaker grille occupies the right half of the plate, with the USB ports (5V DC, 2.4A shared output), socket and rocker switch positioned on the left. A Bluetooth icon and speaker on/off control sit at the base of the plate.

Designed for kitchens, bedrooms, hotel rooms and student accommodation where space is limited but both power and audio are needed, the socket allows a phone or tablet to be charged while streaming music, podcasts or voice assistant commands through the wall-mounted speaker. The speaker pairs via Bluetooth with phones, tablets and Alexa-enabled devices, and the 3W output provides clear speech and foreground audio at conversational volume in rooms up to 15-20 square metres.

The brushed chrome finish is 430 stainless steel with a directional grain that resists fingerprints and surface scratches better than polished finishes. How loud is the speaker?

The 3W RMS output is designed for foreground audio in small to medium rooms (up to 15-20 square metres). It provides clear speech and music at conversational volume, suitable for kitchens, bedrooms and hotel rooms. It is not intended to fill larger open-plan spaces or compete with background noise from appliances.

Can the speaker be turned off independently of the socket?

Yes. The speaker has a dedicated on/off control at the base of the faceplate, allowing the Bluetooth function to be disabled while the socket and USB ports remain operational. This is useful in bedrooms where the standby indicator might be distracting at night.

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed. Depending on the wiring configuration and cable management, installations may require 35-47mm of back box depth to accommodate the speaker electronics and terminals safely.
