The Knightsbridge 13A 1-gang DP switched socket pairs a polished chrome screwless faceplate with a white insert, providing a single 13A outlet rated for standard UK appliance loads up to 3,120W. The double-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when the socket is switched off, offering additional safety over single-pole designs when disconnecting high-draw appliances.

Designed for residential, commercial and hospitality installation, the socket fits a 25mm minimum back box depth and uses a screwless cover plate that clips onto a separate metal sub-frame. This means no visible screws or fixings on the wall once installed, giving a cleaner finish than traditional screw-fixed plates. The white insert recedes behind the chrome faceplate when a plug is connected, keeping focus on the polished metal surround.

The polished chrome finish provides a bright reflective surface that pairs well with modern, minimalist and chrome-accented interiors. A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds approximately 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted.

What does DP switching mean?

DP stands for double-pole switching. When the socket is switched off, both the live and neutral lines are isolated, providing additional safety when disconnecting high-draw appliances compared to single-pole switches that only isolate the live line.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
