Description

This Knightsbridge dual voltage shaver socket accepts both 115V and 230V electric shavers and toothbrushes through two multi-standard outlets marked on a white thermoset resin faceplate. A red neon indicator at the centre of the plate illuminates when the socket is powered, providing a clear visual confirmation before use. The 7mm rounded edge profile softens the wall projection and the black inserts behind each outlet aperture give definition to the two sockets.

Designed for bathroom installation in zones 2 and 3, the socket carries an IP20 rating and fits a 47mm minimum back box depth. The thermoset resin construction includes third-party tested anti-microbial properties to ISO 22196:2011, which suppresses bacterial growth on the faceplate surface in humid bathroom environments. The laser-printed voltage markings and shaver icon remain legible through repeated cleaning and do not fade or rub off with contact.

The dual voltage function eliminates the need for separate US and UK shaver sockets, making the fitting suitable for households with international grooming devices or for guest bathrooms in hospitality settings. Screw cap covers hide the fixing screws once installed, keeping the faceplate appearance clean. The socket is certified to BS EN 61558 and carries a 25-year warranty.

What voltage devices does this socket accept?

The socket accepts both 115V and 230V electric shavers and toothbrushes. The dual voltage function is automatic — there is no manual switch. The neon indicator confirms the socket is powered regardless of which voltage device is connected.

What back box depth is required?

A 47mm minimum back box depth is needed for installation. The 7mm plate projection adds to this, giving an approximate 54mm total depth from the wall surface once fitted.

Can this be installed in a bathroom shower zone?

The IP20 rating limits installation to bathroom zones 2 and 3 only. It cannot be installed within 600mm of a shower tray or bath (zone 1) or inside a shower cubicle (zone 0). Zone 2 begins 600mm from the edge of a bath or shower and zone 3 is beyond 2.4m from the bath or shower edge.

What are the anti-microbial properties?

The thermoset resin is treated with an anti-microbial additive that has been third-party tested to ISO 22196:2011. This suppresses bacterial growth on the faceplate surface, reducing the spread of bacteria in shared bathroom environments. The treatment does not replace regular cleaning but complements it.
