Description

The Knightsbridge dual voltage shaver socket accepts both 115V and 230V shavers through a single outlet, delivering 20VA output on either voltage. The polished chrome screwless faceplate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, leaving no visible fixings on the wall once fitted. A grey insert sits behind the faceplate to define the socket aperture and hide the back of the cover plate.

Designed for bathroom installation where Building Regulations require shaver sockets to be transformer-isolated from the mains, this socket carries an IP41 rating for protection against condensation and vertical dripping water. The IP41 rating makes it suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3 (more than 600mm from the edge of a bath or shower basin). The 47mm minimum back box depth requirement fits most UK standard bathroom back boxes without needing a deeper cavity.

The polished chrome finish provides a reflective metallic surface that pairs with chrome taps, towel rails and shower fittings. The premium-grade steel construction and EN 61558 certification confirm compliance with UK wiring regulations for shaver supply units. The socket includes an earth terminal and is supplied with a 25-year manufacturer warranty.

Can this socket be used in a shower room?

The IP41 rating makes it suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3, which are areas more than 600mm from the edge of a bath or shower basin. It cannot be installed within 600mm of a bath or shower (zones 0 and 1) where higher IP ratings are required.

What back box depth is needed?

A minimum 47mm back box depth is required for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted.

Does it work with both UK and US shavers?

Yes. The dual voltage output provides 20VA at either 115V or 230V, so it accepts UK 230V shavers and US/international 115V models through the same outlet. The socket automatically provides the correct voltage for whichever plug type is inserted.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The polished chrome cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting or tiling around the socket and re-clipped without disturbing the wiring.
