Description

This floodlight does two jobs at once: it lets you choose the colour of the light, and it switches itself on when someone approaches. The colour temperature is adjustable, so you can set it warmer or cooler to suit where it is going rather than living with one fixed shade for the life of the fitting. The PIR sensor sits on its own pivoting head beneath the lamp body, so it can be aimed independently of the beam. It draws 10W, carries an IP65 rating, and the housing, bracket and sensor are all finished in black.

A floodlight of this size is for the working corners of a property rather than for washing light across a whole garden: a back door, a side passage, the run between a garage and the house, a bin store, a parking space or a workshop entrance. The stirrup bracket has slotted fixing holes and a screw at each side, so once the bracket is on the wall the head tilts to the angle you want and locks there. Mount it high enough that the sensor looks out across the approach rather than straight down at the ground, and it will catch people as they arrive rather than once they are already underneath.

Once it is wired in there is no switch to think about: the sensor does the switching, and the colour temperature is chosen on the unit when you install it.
