Description

The Knightsbridge 10AX 3-gang 2-way switch provides independent control of three lighting circuits from two locations, with a polished brass screwless faceplate and matching metal rockers. Rated at 10AX per gang on 230V, the switch handles higher loads than standard 6A switches, making it suitable for circuits with multiple bulbs or inductive loads such as low-voltage transformer systems.

Designed for residential and light commercial installations, the 2-way switching configuration allows each circuit to be controlled from two separate switch positions — common in rooms with two entry points, staircases, and hallways where lights need to be switched on or off from either end. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box, eliminating visible fixings once installed. The switch requires a minimum 16mm back box depth, making it compatible with shallow mounting boxes where deeper models cannot fit.

The polished brass finish provides a high-gloss warm metallic surface that pairs with traditional and classical interiors. The matching brass rockers sit flush with the plate surface, and a built-in gasket between the plate and the wall helps reduce dust ingress behind the faceplate. The switch is certified to EN 60669-1 and carries a 25-year warranty from Knightsbridge. The low 4.3mm projection from the wall gives a slim profile compared to older screw-fixed switches.

What back box depth is required?

A minimum 16mm back box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall surface once fitted.

What load can each gang handle?

Is the screwless plate removable?
