Description
The Knightsbridge 10AX 2-gang 2-way switch controls two separate lighting circuits from two different locations, finished with a polished brass screwless faceplate and matching metal rockers. The 10AX rating handles loads up to 2,300W per gang, suitable for standard domestic lighting circuits including multi-bulb fittings and LED driver loads.
Designed for hallways, staircases, bedrooms and living rooms where lights need control from both ends of the space, the 2-way configuration allows either switch position to turn the lights on or off independently. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box, leaving no visible fixings on the wall surface once installed. The integrated gasket between faceplate and wall provides IP20 dust protection and helps maintain a clean line around the plate edge.
The polished brass finish provides a warm metallic accent that pairs well with traditional, classical and warm-toned contemporary interiors. The faceplate measures 87.5mm square with a low 4.3mm projection from the wall, sitting nearly flush with the plaster line. The metal rockers match the brass finish and provide tactile feedback when switched. The switch requires a minimum 16mm back box depth, shallower than many competitors, making it suitable for retrofit installations in solid walls where back box depth is limited.

Frequently Asked
What does 2-way switching mean?
A 2-way switch allows you to control the same light or lighting circuit from two different locations. Common in hallways and staircases, you can turn the light on at one end of the space and off at the other. This switch provides two gangs, so it controls two separate lighting circuits independently, each from two locations.
What back box depth is required?
A minimum 16mm back box depth is needed. This is shallower than many competitor switches, making it suitable for retrofit installations in solid walls where deeper back boxes are difficult to fit.
Is the screwless plate removable for decorating?
Yes. The polished brass cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame that's screwed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting or wallpapering around the switch and re-clipped without disturbing the wiring.
What other finishes are available in this range?
Knightsbridge produces this 2-gang 2-way switch in a range of finishes including polished chrome, brushed chrome, antique brass, matt black and white. Use the search function or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
