Description

The Knightsbridge 1-gang surface mount box is a 92.5mm square polycarbonate housing finished in polished chrome, designed to pair with screwless and flat plate switches and sockets where flush mounting into a wall is not possible. The 32mm internal depth accommodates standard wiring for single-gang accessories, and the box presents a chrome-finished exterior that matches Knightsbridge's polished chrome screwless faceplates.

This surface box is used where solid walls, tiled surfaces, or existing installations prevent cutting into the substrate. The polished chrome finish integrates with kitchens, bathrooms, offices and commercial environments already using chrome accessories. The box mounts directly to the wall surface using fixings through the internal mounting lugs, and the faceplate then clips or screws onto the front of the box depending on the accessory design.

The polycarbonate construction is impact-resistant and lighter than metal equivalents whilst maintaining dimensional stability. The IP20 rating confirms the box is suitable for dry internal environments but not wet zones or outdoor use. The 92.5mm footprint is consistent with standard UK 1-gang back box dimensions, so accessories designed for flush boxes will align with this surface-mounted alternative.
