Outdoor Post Lights & Lamp Posts

Outdoor lamp posts and twin-head post lights built for British weather, sized for garden paths, driveways and borders. The range runs from short single-light posts to three-head designs above head height, traditional cast lanterns alongside modern and Scandinavian shapes. Finishes run from black through copper and bare stainless, and weather ratings differ by range. Most take E27 bulbs. A qualified electrician should handle the fixed connection.

What the lamp post range covers

Outdoor lamp posts and twin-head post lights built for British weather, sized for paths, driveways and borders. The range runs from single-light cast aluminium posts in a Victorian style through to two and three-head designs, with traditional lanterns alongside cleaner modern and Scandinavian shapes. Finishes include black, bronze, grey, brown, anthracite and gold, in aluminium and metal with glass, acrylic or polycarbonate diffusers. Most posts take a standard E27 bulb, so you can choose the lamp to suit.

Single and multi-head designs

A single-light post gives a neat marker beside a gate, door or along a path. Twin and three-head posts cast light more widely, which suits a driveway entrance or a longer stretch of garden where one head would not reach. Traditional lantern shapes pair well with period and cottage settings, while the modern and Scandinavian designs sit more quietly against contemporary brick and render. Choose the head count to match how much ground you need to light.

Weather rating and siting

These are weather-resistant outdoor fittings most rated IP43 or IP44 and some IP54 to IP65, so you can match the rating to how open the position is. Set a post on firm, level ground with the lantern at a height that lights the path without glaring at eye level, keeping it clear of overhanging branches. Posts mark boundaries, gateways and the line of a drive well, so space them to guide the route. A qualified electrician should handle the fixed mains connection.

Choosing the right post

Begin with the setting: a traditional lantern for a period home, or a modern shape for a newer build. Decide how much light you need, since a single head suits a doorway while twin or triple heads cover a drive. Pick a finish such as black, anthracite or bronze to suit the house, and check the weather rating against the exposure of the spot. As most posts take E27 bulbs, you can set the brightness and tone to taste. Free delivery worldwide on all orders over £99.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these lamp posts suitable for British weather?
Yes. Almost every post is outdoor-rated, most carrying an IP44 or IP54 rating, with some reaching IP65. Cast aluminium, glass and polycarbonate builds are made to stand up to rain and damp in gardens and driveways.

What is the difference between single-head and twin-head posts?
Single-head posts carry one lantern on top for a focused pool of light, good for a border or doorway. Twin and triple-head posts spread two or three lanterns from one column, which lights a wider span of path or driveway.

What bulbs do lamp posts take?
Most posts here use an E27 screw fitting, with some traditional multi-light designs taking the smaller E14 cap. The fitting is listed on each product, so you can match the right bulb before you order.

Which style suits my garden?
Victorian and traditional cast aluminium posts in black or weathered bronze sit well with period and country homes, while galvanised steel and matt black posts in minimalist and Scandinavian shapes suit modern frontages and contemporary planting.

Who should install an outdoor lamp post?
A lamp post needs a stable base and a mains supply run outdoors, so the fixed wiring and connection should be carried out by a qualified electrician. That keeps the post safely earthed and weather-sealed at the cable entry.
