Description
The Zew is a wall-mounted exterior light that throws a beam both upward and downward to graze a façade or doorway. It takes two GU10 PAR16 lamps rated up to 35W each, running on 220-240V AC, so you can pick the colour temperature and brightness to suit the wall behind it. Mounted to a house front or entrance, it washes light up and down the surface for a layered effect on brick, render or stone. American buyers will recognise this up-and-down format as an outdoor wall sconce, here in a compact 235mm-tall body.
The Zew suits entrances, porches, carports and covered patio walls, where the twin beams pick out the texture of the wall and mark a doorway after dark. Its IP44 rating means it copes with splashes and rain under shelter, so it belongs in sheltered spots rather than positions fully open to driving rain or direct water jets. Coverage here is about effect rather than area: the two beams graze upward and downward along the wall, giving a pair of bright pools that frame a door or define a boundary line. Set it at a typical mounting height beside a door or at intervals along a longer façade to keep the wash even.
The body is aluminium alloy in a grey finish, measuring 110 x 65 x 235 mm and weighing 980 g. The IP44 sealing keeps splash and dust out of the GU10 holders, which take standard replaceable PAR16 lamps so the light source can be swapped without changing the fitting. Mounting is to the wall via the rear plate, with the up and down apertures fixed top and bottom. The Zew range also includes an Anthracite 235J version if you need a darker tone to match existing exterior fittings.

Frequently Asked
Can the Zew be used outdoors?
Yes, it is rated IP44, which means it resists splashes and rain in sheltered positions such as a porch, carport or covered entrance. Keep it out of spots that face direct water jets or fully exposed driving rain, as it is built for protected outdoor locations rather than open exposure.
How does the up-and-down light effect work?
The fitting has two GU10 lamp holders, one aimed upward and one downward, so light grazes the wall in both directions. This produces a pair of bright pools above and below the fitting, framing a doorway or picking out the texture of brick or render.
Does it come with bulbs, and can I choose the colour temperature?
The Zew takes two GU10 PAR16 lamps rated up to 35W each, which let you select the brightness and colour temperature that suits the wall. Because the GU10 lamps are replaceable, you can swap the light source later without changing the fitting itself.
How do I clean and maintain it?
Wipe the aluminium body with a soft damp cloth and a mild detergent, avoiding abrasive cleaners that could mark the grey finish. Make sure the fitting is switched off and cool first, and check the seals stay intact when you replace a GU10 lamp to keep the IP44 protection.
