Can this be used outdoors?

How does the up and down light effect work?

The fitting has an opening at the top and bottom, so light washes both up and down the wall from a single point. This grazes the surface to highlight brickwork or render and frames a doorway, rather than spreading a broad flood across the area.

Does it take a bulb or is the LED built in?
