Description

The Zephra is a 61cm diameter LED flush ceiling light with an integrated 42W 3000K LED housed behind an opal polycarbonate diffuser. The outer ring is powder-coated black metal, and the entire fitting sits just 35mm below the ceiling surface, making it suitable for rooms with limited ceiling height. The diffuser spreads light evenly across the ceiling plane rather than projecting it downward, creating ambient rather than task illumination.

Designed for bedrooms, living rooms, home offices and hallways where ceiling height is 2.4m or less, the Zephra provides general room lighting without dominating the visual field. The 610mm diameter covers enough ceiling area to light a 12-16m² room as a single fitting, or can be paired with a second unit in larger open-plan spaces. The non-dimmable integrated LED cannot be replaced, so the entire fitting is changed at end-of-life, typically after 25,000+ hours of operation.

The powder-coated black metal frame provides a matt finish that absorbs rather than reflects light, keeping the fitting itself visually recessive against white or light-toned ceilings. The opal polycarbonate diffuser softens the LED point sources behind it, preventing glare when the fitting is viewed from below. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations only — the Zephra is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor canopies or any environment with moisture exposure.

Is the Zephra dimmable?

No. The integrated LED is non-dimmable and runs on standard 230V mains without dimmer compatibility. Attempting to fit this on a dimmed circuit may cause flickering or damage to the driver.

What ceiling height does it suit?

The 35mm profile makes the Zephra suitable for low ceilings from 2.2m upwards. In rooms with ceiling heights above 2.7m, a pendant or semi-flush fitting may provide better light distribution.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the Zephra is rated for dry indoor use only and is not protected against moisture ingress. For bathrooms, select a fitting with an IP44 rating or higher.

What size room does it light?

The 42W 3000K output suits rooms up to 12-16m² as a single fitting. Larger open-plan spaces may benefit from pairing two Zephra units on separate circuits to balance light coverage.
