Description

The Zephra is a 425mm diameter flush ceiling light with an integrated 23W LED module casting 3000K warm white light through an opal polycarbonate diffuser. The frame is powder-coated metal finished in brass, forming a raised outer ring that sits 35mm proud of the ceiling when mounted. The LED sits behind the diffuser, distributing light evenly across the ceiling plane and down into the room below.

Designed for lower-ceiling rooms where pendant fittings would hang too low, the Zephra suits bedrooms, hallways, bathrooms (IP20 rated, suitable for zones outside direct spray), cloakrooms and smaller living areas with ceiling heights between 2.2m and 2.6m. The 425mm diameter provides ambient coverage for rooms up to approximately 10-12m², while the 35mm projection keeps the fitting close to the ceiling and reduces head clearance issues in compact spaces.

The brass finish is applied as a powder coat or plating over the metal frame, giving a warm metallic tone that pairs with both contemporary interiors and traditional colour schemes. The opal polycarbonate diffuser hides the LED source and prevents glare, so the fitting can be positioned centrally above a bed, in an entrance hall or over a bathroom vanity without creating harsh reflections. The non-dimmable LED is rated for 30,000 hours typical lifespan and draws 23W on 230V mains.

Is the Zephra suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 35mm projection from ceiling to diffuser face makes the Zephra well-suited to rooms with ceiling heights between 2.2m and 2.6m where pendant fittings would hang too low or reduce head clearance.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The IP20 rating means the Zephra can be used in bathroom zones outside direct spray — typically zone 3 and beyond. It cannot be fitted directly above a bath or shower where it would be exposed to water.

Is the LED replaceable?

The LED module is integrated into the fitting. It is rated for 30,000 hours typical lifespan (approximately 10+ years at 8 hours daily use) and is not user-replaceable. If the LED fails within the warranty period, Ideal Lux will replace the entire fitting.

What room size does it cover?

The 425mm diameter and 23W output provide ambient lighting for rooms up to approximately 10-12m² (a bedroom, hallway or small bathroom). Larger rooms may benefit from pairing with task lighting or using multiple Zephra fittings.
