Zanthe 2 Light Glass Wall Light - Polished Chrome

The Zanthe is a 200mm x 230mm wall light with two G9 bulb fittings concealed behind a cascade of clear glass rods suspended from a polished chrome rectangular backplate. The glass rods hang vertically in parallel layers, creating a curtain of reflective surfaces that scatter and multiply the light from the twin G9 bulbs mounted behind them.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms, and living rooms where ambient wall wash is preferred to directional spot lighting, the Zanthe projects 120mm from the wall and casts light both forwards through the glass and upwards and downwards along the wall surface. The rectangular format suits spaces with vertical emphasis — above sideboards, flanking mirrors, or in pairs either side of a bed headboard. The polished chrome finish reflects surrounding tones and pairs with both cool-toned greys and warm neutrals.

Each glass rod is smooth-cut rather than faceted, giving a cleaner refraction pattern than traditional cut crystal. When lit, the rods glow along their length and create vertical streaks of light rather than dispersed sparkle. The twin G9 bulbs sit behind the glass curtain, so the fitting acts as a diffuser rather than exposing visible bulb elements. The 1.5kg weight requires secure fixing to a solid wall or timber stud — plasterboard alone will not support the fitting without appropriate cavity fixings.

What bulbs does it take?

The Zanthe takes two G9 capsule bulbs up to 33W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with G9 LED bulbs between 3-5W and 2700K-3000K for warm ambient light. G9 bulbs are smaller than standard E27 or GU10 fittings and sit behind the glass rods rather than being visible.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, if paired with dimmable G9 LED bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. Not all G9 LEDs are dimmable — check the bulb specification before purchasing if dimming is required.

What wall fixing is needed?

At 1.5kg, the Zanthe requires secure fixing to a solid wall, brick, block, or timber stud. On plasterboard alone, use spring toggle or cavity fixings rated to at least 3kg per fixing point. The fitting mounts via a standard rectangular backplate with two fixing holes.

How is the glass cleaned?

The glass rods can be wiped with a dry microfibre cloth when the fitting is switched off and cool. For more thorough cleaning, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable. Avoid spraying cleaners directly onto the fitting — moisture can enter the lamp holders.
