Description
The XLED candle bulb is a C35 flame-shape LED lamp on an E14 Small Edison Screw cap, the small screw fitting US buyers know as the candelabra base. It draws just 4.5 W while putting out 470 lumens of 2700K warm white light, the energy of a modern LED standing in for a 40 W old-style bulb. Visible LED filaments run the length of the bulb for the vintage candle look, with the diffusing opal glass softening the glow and a wide 320 degree beam spreading light evenly all round rather than in one direction.
The warm 2700K tone and gentle all-round spread suit fittings where the bulb is on show: chandeliers, wall brackets, candelabra-style pendants and bedside or hallway lamps. The 320 degree beam means it fills a shade or open fitting without a dark side, so it works well in multi-arm fixtures and decorative lanterns indoors. With 470 lumens it gives a soft, ambient candle-light level rather than bright task output, making it a good fit for living rooms, dining areas and landings where a cosy mood matters more than working brightness. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor use, so keep it to interior fittings and clear of bathrooms, porches or any damp location.
The bulb measures Ø35 by 97 mm and weighs only 16 g, with clear-look opal glass over the filament strands and a white finish at the cap. It runs on 220 to 240 V AC mains direct from the E14 holder, with an efficiency of 104 lm/W and a rated life of 15,000 hours. Colour rendering is Ra 80, giving natural-enough tones for everyday rooms. This bulb is non-dimmable, so pair it with a standard on/off switch rather than a dimmer circuit. The XLED range also runs to other E14 and E27 filament shapes if you are matching several fittings.

Frequently Asked
Which fitting does this bulb need?
It has an E14 cap, known as the Small Edison Screw (SES) in the UK and the candelabra base in the US. It threads straight into any E14 holder, such as those on chandeliers, wall lights and candle-style lamps.
What old bulb does the 4.5W rating replace?
The LED itself draws only 4.5 W but gives 470 lumens, which matches the brightness of a 40 W traditional incandescent candle bulb. You get the same light for a fraction of the running power.
Is it a warm or cool light?
It is a warm white at 2700K, a cosy yellow-toned glow that suits living rooms, bedrooms and dining areas. The visible filaments and opal glass give it a soft vintage candle look.
Can this bulb be dimmed?
No, this is a non-dimmable bulb, so it should be used on a standard on/off switch. Fitting it to a dimmer circuit may cause flicker or shorten its rated 15,000 hour life.
