Description

The Wasarne is a ceiling spotlight bar with two spot heads, one at each end of a gently curving, wave-shaped arm that meets a round central canopy. The body is steel in a satin nickel finish, and each head carries a white glass shade made with a wiping technique, which leaves fine, soft streaks across the glass. It measures 37cm long, 10cm wide and 13cm high, so it sits close to the ceiling rather than dropping into the room. Each head takes an E14 bulb, with a maximum of 40W per head, and the bulbs are not included. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors, in dry rooms.

The heads angle separately, so you can aim one towards a picture or a shelf and the other across a worktop, which makes it a practical answer where a single central light leaves the corners dim. Its compact length suits a hallway, a landing, a small kitchen or a bedroom, and it works well above a doorway or along a corridor where the ceiling is too low for a hanging pendant. The satin nickel sits comfortably beside brushed steel handles and pale walls, and the white glass takes the glare off the bulbs for a softer, more even glow.

There is no switch on the fitting itself: it is switched at the wall, so it answers to the light switch you already use. It is a wired mains fitting for a 220-240V, 50/60Hz supply, so it should be installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available as a download. Packed, it weighs 0.708KG. Glass is easy to wipe clean with a soft cloth once the bulbs have cooled. When you buy bulbs, choose E14 caps and stay within 40W per head, and you have a neat, adjustable spotlight bar for most dry rooms in the house.

Frequently Asked

Can the Wasarne go in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, which means it is meant for dry indoor rooms only, so we would not place it in a bathroom or anywhere near water.

Which bulbs does it take?

Each of the two heads takes an E14 bulb with a maximum of 40W per head, and the bulbs are not included.

Can the spot heads be angled?

Yes. Each head sits on its own joint, so you can angle the two heads separately and point the light where you need it.

How big is the Wasarne?

It is 37cm long, 10cm wide and 13cm high, a compact size that suits hallways, landings, small kitchens and bedrooms.

Does it have its own switch?

No. There is no switch on the fitting itself; it is switched at the wall, from the light switch already in the room.

What material are the shades?

The shades are white glass made with a wiping technique, which gives them fine, soft streaks that sit nicely against the satin nickel steel body.
