The Walmena is a small LED table lamp with a rounded dome head, a slim stem and a round base. The body is aluminium and steel in a finely textured terracotta finish, and the shade beneath the rim of the dome is white plastic. It stands 20cm tall and measures 7.5cm in diameter, the same across as its base, so it takes very little room on a table. The light source is an integrated LED of 1.8W giving 170 lumens. It is rated IP54, which means it is protected against dust and splashing water, so it is at home outdoors on a patio or garden table.

Because it runs on a Li-ion battery, with no cable, you can set it wherever a little light is wanted: the middle of an outdoor dining table, a garden bench, a bedside table or a sideboard indoors. We like it for long summer evenings in the garden, where a candle would gutter in the breeze, and it comes back inside just as easily. The earthy terracotta sits happily with weathered wood, green planting and warm-toned cushions, and the slim footprint leaves space for plates and glasses.
