The Walmena is a small, cordless LED touch table lamp with a rounded dome shade, a slim stem and a round base, all in an earthy, speckled auburn finish. It stands 20cm tall, with a diameter of 7.5cm and a base of the same 7.5cm, so it needs very little space on a table. The body is aluminium and steel, and integrated LEDs drawing 1.8W shine down through white plastic beneath the dome. Rated IP54, it is protected against dust and splashing water, so it can live outdoors on a garden table as readily as it sits indoors.

Because it runs from a lithium-ion battery of 2500mAh, there is no cable to trail, so you can carry it from the dining table to the patio, the balcony or a bedside without hunting for a socket. At 170 lumens it gives a soft pool of light for a table rather than lighting a whole room, which is just right for supper outside or a quiet corner indoors. It suits anyone who likes to move their lighting between house and garden through the year.

A touch dimmer switches the light and sets its brightness, and the three colour temperatures are chosen at the light itself: 2500K for a deep, candle-like glow, 3000K for a familiar warm light and 4000K for a crisper, cooler light. There is a USB port too. The aluminium and steel body is finished in speckled auburn, and a soft, dry cloth is all you need to keep the dust away.
