The Walmena is a compact LED touch table lamp with a bell-shaped dome head, a slim stem and a round disc base, all in a speckled auburn finish that reads as a warm rust brown. It stands 34cm tall, and both the head and the base are 11cm across, so it sits comfortably on a small bistro table. The body is aluminium and steel, and the integrated LED shines down through a white plastic shade on the underside of the dome. With an IP54 rating it is protected from splashing water, which means it can live outdoors on a garden table as happily as it does indoors.

We like it most on a patio, balcony or terrace table, where a battery lamp earns its place: it runs on a lithium-ion battery rated at 1800mAh, so it needs no socket beside the table. Bring it inside and it works just as well on a dining table, a sideboard or a bedside table.
