Description

The VORA SP is a garden spike light that takes a single GU10 lamp, drawing up to 7W from a 220-240V AC mains supply. It uses a PAR16 LED format, so the directional beam is set by whichever GU10 lamp you fit, letting you graze a planted border, throw light up a low wall or pick out a feature in a bed. Across the Atlantic this style sits among landscape spike lights and pathway lights, the staked outdoor fittings used to mark and accent garden routes rather than flood a whole area.

Outdoors it suits sheltered spots, planted borders, low hedging, the edge of a patio or a covered porch and carport setting, where the spike can be pushed into soil or loose ground and angled towards the surface you want lit. Because the light is directional rather than ambient, think of it in terms of beam throw and the pool of light it casts on a wall, trunk or planting rather than a room area. Group several along a path or bed to build a run of accent points, adjusting each one to suit the height and spread of the planting around it.

The body is aluminium alloy finished in anthracite, a dark tone that recedes into a border by day, and measures 89 by 179 by 294 mm at a weight of 590 g. It carries an IP44 rating, which makes it splash-resistant and suited to sheltered positions rather than fully exposed ground or anywhere subject to direct water jets or standing water. The ground spike is integral, so the fitting stakes straight into soil with no bracket or recess needed, and the head adjusts to set the beam. Yes, within reason. The IP44 rating makes it splash-resistant and suited to sheltered outdoor positions such as a covered porch, carport or a planted border that is not fully exposed. Keep it clear of direct water jets and standing water, as it is not rated for those conditions.
