Description

Vogue is a floor lamp in black. A slim stem rising from a low round black disc base, black for most of its height and turning to polished brass where it curves over at the top, carrying a small black cylinder shade angled down and forward. The cylinder is a short straight-sided tube rather than a cone, so the light leaves as a tight pool directly beneath it. The join between black and brass is a plain butt with no collar. The black is matt and the brass is bare and bright. The head sits well out from the base, so the light lands beside the lamp rather than over it. It measures 12cm across and 143cm tall, in metal.

It stands beside a chair or at the end of a sofa, where it puts one pool of light exactly where it is needed without lighting the whole space. That is what a floor lamp is for: it takes the reading light off the ceiling and puts it at shoulder height, so the room can be lit softly and still be worked in.

The holder is E27 and takes up to 25W. It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms.

An E27 lamp up to 40W. Bulbs are supplied separately so you can choose the brightness and colour you want.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, on a compatible dimmer, provided the lamp you fit is a dimmable one. The fitting has no dimmer of its own.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. It is IP20, which covers dry interior rooms only. A bathroom needs IP44 or better.
