Description

The Vienna is a two-tier 10-light crystal chandelier with a gold-finished metal frame, a central clear glass column and ten E12 candle-style lamp holders arranged on the lower tier. The upper tier carries no bulbs and acts as a decorative crown of scrolled arms hung with faceted K9 crystal pendants, while the lower tier holds the working light source on ten outward-curved arms with crystal bobeches and pendalogue drops.

At 71.1cm wide and 96.5cm tall (excluding chain), the Vienna suits stairwell voids, double-height entrance halls and larger formal dining rooms with ceilings of 3m or more. The 150cm cable and chain allow the chandelier to be hung at varying drops, typically 750-900mm above a dining table or centred in a stairwell where it can be viewed from both ground and first-floor levels. Ten 60W max E12 candle bulbs (sold separately) provide the light output.

The frame combines cast metal scrollwork in a warm gold finish with a clear glass central baluster, drawing on Rococo and Maria Theresa chandelier traditions. Cut K9 crystal is used throughout the trim: octagonal beaded chains link arm to arm, kite-shaped pendalogues hang from the lower tier, and a single faceted crystal ball finishes the bottom point. At 23kg the fitting is substantial and requires a fixing rated for the load plus the weight of the chain.

What bulbs does the Vienna take?

The chandelier takes 10 x E12 candelabra-base bulbs rated up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most buyers fit warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K to keep heat low and reduce running costs while preserving the warm glow expected from a traditional crystal chandelier.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting itself has no integrated driver, so dimmability depends on the bulb chosen. Pair with dimmable E12 LED candle bulbs and a compatible LED-rated dimmer switch (leading or trailing edge as specified by the bulb manufacturer) for variable output.

What ceiling height is needed?

At 96.5cm tall plus a 150cm chain and cable, the Vienna is designed for ceilings of 3m or higher. It works particularly well in stairwell voids and double-height entrance halls where the upper crystal tier can be viewed from a first-floor landing.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Isolate the circuit at the consumer unit and allow bulbs to cool. Dust the K9 crystal drops with a soft microfibre cloth, or remove individual pendants for hand-cleaning in warm water with a small amount of mild detergent. Dry thoroughly before re-hanging. Avoid spray cleaners on the gold-finished metal frame.
