Description
The VEXA is a 1500mm surface-mounted linear LED fitting delivering 3500lm at 4000K through a prismatic diffuser rated UGR19 for low-glare environments. The integrated 30W LED runs on 230V mains with a constant-current driver, and the fitting includes a lithium battery providing 200lm emergency backup for three hours in maintained, non-maintained or switched emergency modes.
Designed for schools, offices, corridors and meeting rooms where glare control matters, the UGR19 rating keeps light distribution below the unified glare threshold for VDU work and classroom environments. The white pressed-steel and polycarbonate housing mounts directly to ceilings or walls via knock-out conduit entries at both ends, and the 59mm projection keeps the profile low enough for standard 2.4m ceiling heights without dominating the space visually.
The emergency function switches between maintained (always lit, switches to battery on power loss), non-maintained (only lit on power loss) and switched (controlled by a separate switch) operation depending on wiring configuration during installation. The 90-degree beam angle spreads light evenly across desks and workspaces, while the CRI >80 colour rendering keeps document and screen work comfortable under sustained use. The 50,000-hour L70B50 rating means the LED maintains 70% of initial output for the first 50,000 hours of operation.
The white finish integrates with standard ceiling tiles and painted plasterboard. The fitting is rated IP20 for dry indoor environments and carries a 5-year warranty excluding the battery, which is field-replaceable when it reaches end of life after typical 3-4 year battery cycle in emergency mode.

Frequently Asked
What does UGR19 mean?
UGR (Unified Glare Rating) measures how much glare a luminaire produces. UGR19 or lower is the standard for offices, schools and VDU environments where screen work happens. A lower number means less glare, so UGR19 provides comfortable lighting for sustained desk work and classroom use.
How does the emergency function work?
The fitting can be wired for maintained (always lit, switches to battery backup on power loss), non-maintained (only lit during power loss), or switched emergency operation. The lithium battery provides 200lm output for three hours when mains power fails. The mode is set during installation by the electrician.
Is the battery replaceable?
Yes. The lithium battery is field-replaceable when it reaches end of life, typically after 3-4 years depending on how often emergency mode is triggered. The 5-year warranty covers the LED and fitting components but excludes the battery.
Can it be installed on walls as well as ceilings?
Yes. The fitting surface-mounts to ceilings or walls via conduit knock-outs at both ends. Wall mounting works well in corridors where a horizontal light line is needed along the length of the space.
