Description

The Vetra is a small pendant light pairing a 20cm opal glass globe with a slim, angled chrome suspension arm. The frosted glass shade clips to a polished chrome cap which threads onto the offset bar, so the globe sits to one side of the suspension point rather than directly beneath it. A single E14 lamp holder inside the globe (bulb sold separately) takes a maximum 60W bulb on a 220-250V supply.

The angled arm geometry suits positions where a directly-suspended pendant would feel too vertical: above a kitchen breakfast bar, alongside a bedside table in place of a wall lamp, or as a reading light above an armchair. The 150cm cable can be shortened on installation to set the globe at the height required for the room. Overall fitting height is 47cm, with the globe contributing 20cm of that.

The opal glass is fully frosted rather than clear, so the bulb itself is hidden and the globe glows evenly when lit. The polished chrome arm and cap reflect the surrounding light and pair cleanly with monochrome, Scandinavian and contemporary interiors. At 2kg, the fitting is light enough for standard ceiling rose installations and the cable feeds through the top of the angled arm to keep the wiring concealed.

What bulb does the Vetra take?

The Vetra takes a single E14 (small Edison screw) bulb up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. A frosted or pearl bulb is recommended over a clear filament bulb, since the opal glass already diffuses the light evenly.

Can the drop length be adjusted?

Yes. The cable measures 150cm and can be shortened on installation to set the pendant at the required height. The fitting itself adds 47cm to the drop measurement.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No IP rating is specified for this fitting, so it is intended for general indoor use only and should not be installed in bathroom zones or other damp locations.

Why is the arm angled rather than straight?

The offset arm positions the globe to one side of the ceiling fixing point. This is useful where the ceiling rose cannot be moved but the light needs to sit over a specific position, such as one end of a kitchen island, the side of a bed or above a reading chair.
