Description
The Vetra is a dual-purpose wall and semi-flush ceiling light with two opal glass globes mounted on a matt black bar and central back plate. Each globe houses an E14 bulb fitting (2 x 60W max, sold separately), and the fitting measures 42cm across by 20cm deep. The opal glass diffuses the bulbs into a soft, even glow with no visible filament hot spot.
Because the back plate is symmetrical, the Vetra can be installed either way up: vertically on a wall as a twin-globe sconce, horizontally on a wall as a pair of side-by-side spheres, or directly on the ceiling as a low-profile semi-flush fitting. This flexibility suits hallways, landings, bathroom side walls (subject to zoning), bedside positions in place of table lamps, and corridors with limited ceiling drop.
The matt black metalwork sits flat against the wall or ceiling and reads as a slim bar between the two globes rather than a heavy bracket. At 2.3kg the fitting is light enough for standard plasterboard fixings with appropriate anchors. The opal glass is a true white rather than a translucent clear, so the globes remain visually present when the light is switched off and act as a sculptural pair against the black hardware.

Frequently Asked
Can the Vetra be used on a ceiling as well as a wall?
Yes. The back plate is symmetrical, so the fitting can be installed as a wall light (vertical or horizontal) or as a semi-flush ceiling light. The total projection is 20cm, which keeps the fitting close to the ceiling for rooms with limited headroom.
What bulbs does it take?
The Vetra takes 2 x E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. A pair of warm-white E14 LED golfball bulbs around 4-6W and 2700K-3000K gives a soft ambient glow that suits the opal diffuser.
Is it suitable for bathrooms?
The Vetra does not carry a stated IP rating in its specification, so it is intended for general interior use rather than bathroom zones. For bathroom installations, please choose a fitting with an appropriate IP rating for the zone in question.
How is it fitted to the wall?
The light fixes through a central back plate that covers a standard UK wiring box or surface-mounted cable outlet. At 2.3kg it can be installed on plasterboard with suitable anchors, or directly into masonry or timber with standard wall plugs and screws. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
