Description

The Vetra is a dual-mount fitting with two 20cm opal glass globes set at either end of a grey metal stem, with a polished chrome central sphere where the two arms meet. It can be installed flat against a ceiling as a semi-flush fitting or mounted on a wall as a horizontal twin sconce, and accepts 2 x E14 bulbs up to 60W (sold separately).

The 42cm overall length with a low projection from the wall or ceiling makes the Vetra suited to rooms with limited headroom or narrow vertical space. Typical applications include hallways and landings where a hanging pendant would obstruct, low-ceilinged bedrooms above a headboard, bathroom walls flanking a mirror (subject to zone and IP requirements), and above kitchen shelving or a run of cabinetry where a linear light source is needed.

The opal glass diffuses the bulb output evenly across the full surface of each globe, eliminating hotspots and giving a soft ambient wash rather than directed task light. The grey-finished metal stem and chrome central detail keep the visual weight low against pale walls and ceilings, so the lit globes read as the dominant feature. At 2.3kg the fitting is light enough for plasterboard mounting with appropriate fixings.

Can the Vetra be fitted on both walls and ceilings?

Yes. The fitting is designed as a dual-mount piece. It can be installed flat to a ceiling as a semi-flush light or horizontally on a wall as a twin sconce, using the same back plate either way.

What bulbs does it take?

The Vetra takes 2 x E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair the fitting with warm-white LED candle or golf-ball bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K to suit the diffused opal glass.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. As a semi-flush fitting with a low projection from the ceiling, the Vetra works well in rooms with limited headroom where a hanging pendant would feel intrusive.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The product is not supplied with a stated IP rating, so it should be treated as a general-purpose fitting. It is not recommended for bathroom zones 0, 1 or 2 where an IP-rated light is required. For use outside those zones, please confirm with a qualified electrician.
