Description

The Vetra is a dual-mount light fitting built around a 30cm opal glass globe suspended from a right-angled brushed gold metal arm. The arm extends horizontally from a circular wall or ceiling plate, with the globe held below by a small disc cap, giving the fitting a geometric profile that reads as a circle balanced against a square. A single E27 lamp inside the opal glass provides diffused light through the frosted shade.

The same fitting works as a wall light or as a semi-flush ceiling light, which makes it useful in spaces where a coordinated lighting scheme is needed across walls and ceiling. Mounted on a wall it suits hallways, bedside positions, and either side of a mirror or piece of artwork. Mounted on the ceiling it works as a low-profile fitting for landings, smaller bedrooms, and entrance halls where a hanging pendant would sit too low.

The opal glass globe is fully closed at the top, so the light source is concealed from every angle and the entire sphere glows evenly when lit. The brushed gold finish on the metalwork has a low sheen rather than a mirror polish, which softens reflections and pairs comfortably with both warm-toned and cooler interiors. Total height is 31.6cm and the fitting weighs 2.7kg, giving it enough presence to anchor a wall position without dominating a small room.

Can the Vetra be used as both a wall light and a ceiling light?

Yes. The fitting is designed for dual mounting. The same backplate and arm install on either a wall or a ceiling, which means a pair of wall lights and a matching semi-flush ceiling fitting can be specified across one room from the same product.

What bulb does it take?

The Vetra uses a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. A frosted or opal E27 LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K gives a warm ambient glow that suits the opal glass globe.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Mounted as a semi-flush ceiling fitting the total drop is 31.6cm, so it suits standard residential ceiling heights of 2.4m and above. As a wall light the projection from the wall is compact, so it works in narrower hallways without obstructing the walking line.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The Vetra does not carry a bathroom IP rating, so it should not be installed in bathroom zones. It suits hallways, bedrooms, living areas and powder rooms where no specific IP rating is required.
