Description

The Vetra is a dual-purpose wall and semi-flush ceiling light built around a 30cm opal glass globe held inside a matt black metal frame. The frame forms an open rectangle that brackets the globe from above and behind, giving the fitting a graphic, architectural outline. A single E27 lamp holder sits inside the globe (bulb sold separately), and the opal glass diffuses the output into a soft, even glow.

The fitting is designed to mount either on a wall as a sconce or on a ceiling as a semi-flush light, which makes it useful in hallways, stairwell landings, bedrooms beside a bed, and rooms with lower ceilings where a long pendant drop would not work. At 31.6cm tall and 30cm in diameter it suits compact spaces and layered lighting schemes where a softer secondary source is needed alongside primary downlights or a central pendant.

The metal frame is finished in matt black with a low sheen that pairs cleanly with monochrome interiors, industrial-leaning schemes, and warm timber surfaces. The globe is sealed at the top by a black metal cap that conceals the lamp holder and cable entry, so the diffuser reads as a clean opal sphere rather than a part-lit shade. Can the Vetra be fitted as both a wall light and a ceiling light?

Yes. The Vetra is designed to work as either a wall sconce or a semi-flush ceiling light using the same fitting. The geometric frame reads correctly in both orientations, so it can be installed on a wall beside a bed or above a console, or on a ceiling in a hallway or low-ceilinged room.

What bulb does it take?

The fitting takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K typically suits the opal globe well, providing soft ambient light without the heat output of a higher-wattage filament bulb.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. As a semi-flush fitting with a total height of 31.6cm, the Vetra projects far less from the ceiling than a pendant. It works in rooms with ceiling heights from around 2.3m upwards, including hallways, landings and bedrooms.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

The Vetra does not carry a published IP rating, so it is intended for dry indoor locations only and should not be installed in bathroom zones or other damp environments.
