Description

The Vertical is a 1830mm floor lamp built around two parallel white rods rising from a cylindrical white base. The integrated 44W LED casts 2600 lumens of warm 3000K light through the rods at a 120° beam angle, producing diffused ambient illumination rather than directed task light. An inline dimmer on the mains cable allows the output to be adjusted from full brightness down to a low glow.

Designed for living rooms, bedrooms and entrance halls where ambient light is needed without ceiling fitting, the lamp works as a corner uplighter or as a light source positioned behind seating or alongside consoles. The 110mm diameter base footprint gives stability on carpet and hard floors without needing additional weighting. The dimmer sits on the cable approximately 300mm from the base, allowing brightness to be adjusted without reaching up to the lamp head.

The white powder-coat finish on the metal frame and base gives a matte appearance that reduces reflections and pairs cleanly with white walls, light oak and pale timber furniture. The two-rod construction distributes the light output vertically, casting an upward wash onto ceilings and walls rather than creating a pool of light on the floor. The 4kg weight includes the base and integrated LED module, which is non-replaceable.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 44W LED is integrated into the lamp structure and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 30,000 hours of use, which equates to around 10-15 years of typical domestic use at 6 hours per day.

How is the lamp dimmed?

The lamp includes an inline dimmer on the mains cable, positioned approximately 300mm from the base. This allows brightness to be adjusted without reaching up to the lamp head or installing a wall dimmer.

What type of light does it produce?

The lamp produces diffused ambient light rather than directed task light. The two vertical rods cast a 120° beam of warm 3000K light upwards and outwards, creating a wash of light on ceilings and walls. It works as ambient or accent lighting, not as a reading light.

What ceiling height is needed?

The lamp stands 1830mm tall, so it suits rooms with standard UK ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. In rooms with lower ceilings the top of the lamp may sit quite close to the ceiling, which can intensify the upward light wash effect.
