Description

Vegas is a floor lamp in black. A slim black column on a flat round black base, with a bright chrome flexible gooseneck rising from the top of it and bending over to carry a small flat head. The head is a shallow shell rather than a shade, open underneath, so the lamp inside shows as a bright line from below. A black sleeve is set into the column near the top and carries the switch, with a chrome collar above it. The black is matt on the column, the base and the head alike. The base is small and heavy and the lamp stands close beside a chair. It measures 10cm across.

It stands beside a chair or at the end of a sofa, where it puts one pool of light exactly where it is needed without lighting the whole space. That is what a floor lamp is for: it takes the reading light off the ceiling and puts it at shoulder height, so the room can be lit softly and still be worked in.

The LED is built in at 7W, so there is no bulb to buy and none to fit. It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms. It carries an F energy label.

No. The LED is built into the fitting, so there is nothing to buy and nothing to fit.

What happens when the LED fails?

The fitting is replaced rather than relamped. At 7W and normal domestic use that is many years away.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. It is IP20, which covers dry interior rooms only. A bathroom needs IP44 or better.
