Varso 24W Ø330 LED Bulkhead with PIR Sensor IP54 Cool White - White

The Varso is a round LED bulkhead light with a built-in PIR motion sensor, drawing 24W and putting out 2280 lumens of cool white 4000K light across a wide 120 degree spread. Running on 220-240V AC mains, it brings the fitting to full brightness the moment movement is detected, then holds. Across the Atlantic a fitting of this kind is known as an outdoor wall pack or wall sconce, and the Varso covers that brief with its sealed round body and integrated sensor. With the LED built in there is no separate lamp to fit or replace.

Its 906 g body and modest 49 mm projection sit close to the surface, so it works well over a porch, in a covered entrance, under a carport or along a sheltered passage where a hands-free light earns its keep. The 120 degree beam washes light broadly rather than throwing it far, lighting up a doorway, a set of bin stores or the area immediately around the fitting as you approach. The PIR triggers on movement, which makes it a sensible choice for entrances and side returns that should not stay lit all night. It also suits indoor utility runs such as a garage, a porch lobby or a stairwell landing.

The casing is moulded plastic in a white finish with a round 327 mm diameter, rated IP54 against splashing and dust ingress, so it is suited to sheltered and covered outdoor positions and damp-prone indoor areas rather than fully exposed spots facing direct rain or hose-down. It is not dimmable, and the LED is integrated for a rated 20,000 hours of service. The PIR sensor is part of the unit, so installation is a single fix with no extra control to wire. The wider Varso range includes plain non-sensor versions for areas where constant light is wanted instead.

Can the Varso bulkhead be used outdoors?

It is rated IP54, which covers splashing water and dust, so it suits covered and sheltered outdoor spots such as a porch, carport or covered entrance. Keep it clear of fully exposed positions that take direct rain or any kind of water jet, as IP54 is not built for that level of exposure.

How does the built-in PIR sensor work?

The Varso has an integrated PIR motion sensor that switches the light on when it detects movement within range. There is no separate detector to wire in, so it installs as a single unit and is ready to respond as soon as it is powered.

Is a bulb included, and can I change it?

How should the fitting be cleaned and maintained?

Switch off the power and wipe the white plastic diffuser with a soft, damp cloth to clear dust, cobwebs and grime that can dull the output. Avoid solvents or abrasive cleaners, which can mark the casing and the sensor window, and keep the PIR lens clear so detection stays reliable.
