Description
The Varelle is a 1730mm column floor lamp built around thirteen rounded Spanish alabaster spheres stacked vertically along a slim matte black stem. Arranged in tiers of three around the central post, the alabaster forms house G9 lamp sockets that light the stone from within, turning each sphere into its own warm diffuser. The lamp stands on a circular matte black base with a 390mm overall fitting diameter at its widest point.
Designed as a sculptural floor light for living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and reading corners, the Varelle works as ambient rather than task lighting. The stacked column of glowing spheres draws the eye upward, making it a useful piece for tall rooms or a quiet corner where a single decorative source replaces multiple smaller fittings. The slim base footprint suits placement next to a sofa, beside an armchair, or in a hallway against a plain wall.
Each alabaster sphere is cut from natural Spanish stone, so the cloudy veining and tonal variation differ from globe to globe. The contrast between the pale, luminous stone and the matte black metal frame gives the lamp a defined sculptural rhythm, with the dark connectors between each tier emphasising the layered geometry. The 1730mm height suits standard 2.4m ceilings while still giving the column real vertical presence.
The lamp uses thirteen G9 capsule bulbs (sold separately), allowing the colour temperature and brightness to be tuned to the room. Warm-white G9 LEDs around 2700K pair naturally with the alabaster and produce the softest glow through the stone.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Varelle take?
The lamp uses thirteen G9 capsule bulbs (sold separately). Most users pair this with warm-white G9 LEDs around 2700K-3000K, which produce the softest glow through the alabaster.
Is the Varelle dimmable?
Dimmability depends on the G9 bulbs fitted and the dimmer switch used. If you want to dim the lamp, choose dimmable G9 LEDs and confirm compatibility with your specific dimmer model before installation.
Does each alabaster sphere look the same?
No. Each globe is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the cloudy veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between spheres and between individual lamps. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid water, household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners, as these can mark the surface of the stone.
