Description

This is a small ball lamp with an E14 screw cap and a clear body, so the light source stays on view rather than sitting behind opal. It draws 4W and gives 470 lumens of warm white light, which puts it in the same brightness bracket as a modest older filament lamp. The outline is the familiar golf ball shape rather than a taper or a globe. Light spreads all round, so it holds up in fittings that leave the lamp on show, and it dims provided the circuit has a dimmer intended for LED loads.

We reach for this one in chandeliers, small wall lights and bedside lamps, anywhere the lampholder is the smaller screw size and the lamp sits in plain sight. At 45mm across it stays neat inside a compact shade or a candle sleeve, and the warm tone suits sitting rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms where a cooler white would feel stark. If you are running several on one dimmer, we would keep them all to the same type so they track together. A dimmer is not included.
