Description

Small, candle shaped and clear, this is the sort of lamp meant to be seen as well as to light a room. It draws 4W and gives a crisp 6000K daylight white, a cool, blue leaning light that reads clean and bright rather than cosy. The clear glass keeps the outline sharp in open fittings. It dims, provided the dimmer is a suitable LED type, and no dimmer is supplied with it.

Daylight white is a working light, so we would put this where clarity counts: a kitchen, a utility room, a home office lamp, a landing where you want to see the stairs properly. The small screw E14 base is the usual fitting for chandeliers, candle style wall lights and little bedside lamps, and at 470 lumens each one carries its share in a multi lamp fitting without shouting. It suits anyone swapping out older candle lamps who wants the same familiar shape on a lower draw. If you want a softer, yellower light for living rooms and bedrooms, we keep warmer versions for that instead.

The glass envelope is clear rather than frosted or opal, and the base is the standard small screw type. It carries a three year warranty. Switch the power off and let it cool before dusting the glass with a dry cloth, and keep damp cloths and sprays away from the base. Because the light is thrown right around the lamp, it works as happily pointing down in a pendant as it does upright in a wall fitting.
