Description

Amber glass gives this small candle lamp a low, honeyed light rather than anything crisp or white. It draws 4W and puts out about 470 lumens, which is plenty in a multi-lamp fitting and gentle enough on its own. The envelope is drawn up to the traditional pointed candle tip, and the cap is E14. It is dimmable, so paired with a compatible dimmer you can bring the level down towards candle height in the evening, with the tinted glass keeping the tone warm all the way.

We reach for this one where the lamp itself is on show. Chandeliers, small wall lights, clear lantern fittings and table lamps under a narrow shade all suit it, because the amber body reads as part of the design rather than something to hide away. At 2200K the colour sits well under ordinary warm white, nearer firelight, which flatters dining rooms, snugs and bedsides late in the day.
