Description

A candle-shaped LED lamp with a clear envelope, so the light comes through crisp and the shape of the lamp stays part of the fitting's look. It runs on 4W and gives 470 lumens, and the colour sits at 4000K: a clean neutral white with none of the yellow of an older candle bulb. The small Edison screw cap fits the fittings candle lamps usually live in, and light comes off it all round rather than in one direction. It is a straight swap for the incandescent candle bulbs still sitting in plenty of older chandeliers.

We would use it in a chandelier or a multi-arm ceiling light where several lamps are on show at once, in candle wall lights, and in small shaded pendants over a desk or a worktop. The neutral white suits kitchens, home offices, utility rooms and landings, anywhere you want the light to read accurate rather than cosy. It is slim enough to sit inside a clip-on shade without crowding it. It does not dim, so it belongs on a plain switched circuit; if there is a dimmer on the wall, this is not the lamp to put behind it.
