Description

The Valora is an 8-light semi-flush ceiling fitting built around a tiered metal frame draped in fine brass chains finished in nickel. Eight G9 lamps sit behind the upper chain veil and a central GU10 LED anchors the lower tier, casting light through the metal fringe so the chains themselves shimmer rather than the bulbs being directly visible. The fitting measures 60cm in diameter with a 70cm drop and weighs 17kg.

As a semi-flush rather than a full pendant, the Valora suits rooms with ceiling heights between 2.4m and 2.7m where a long-drop chandelier would sit too low. It works in entrance halls, stairwell landings, dressing rooms, principal bedrooms and dining areas where decorative ceiling presence is wanted without the chains hanging into head height. The fitting takes 230-240V mains and requires a competent electrician for installation given the 17kg weight.

The chain veil is constructed from thousands of individual fine brass links plated in nickel, layered in graduated tiers that taper from a wider crown at the ceiling rose to a narrower point at the base. The nickel finish reads as a cool silver tone that pairs with stainless steel kitchens, polished chrome bathroom fittings, mirrored furniture and grey or off-white interior palettes. The metal structure beneath the chains is solid rather than wire-form, giving the fitting its substantial weight and ensuring the chains hang true.

What ceiling height does it suit?

With a 70cm drop, the Valora is designed as a semi-flush fitting for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m and above. In rooms with 2.7m or higher ceilings the proportions sit comfortably above head height in the centre of the room. It is not intended for ceilings below 2.4m.

How is it cleaned?

The fine chain veil collects dust over time. Clean by switching the fitting off at the mains, allowing it to cool, and dusting gently with a soft long-handled feather duster or microfibre wand. Avoid wet cleaning as moisture can dull the nickel plating on the chains.

Is professional installation required?

Yes. At 17kg the Valora exceeds the safe weight limit of standard ceiling roses and requires a fixing point capable of supporting the load, plus mains wiring on a 230-240V circuit. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
