Description
The Vadra garden spike light is a staked outdoor fixture built around an E27 lampholder, taking your choice of GLS, CFL or LED lamp up to a maximum of 11W. It runs on 220-240V AC mains, so no separate transformer is needed. The slim 82 x 82 mm head sits on a 500 mm spike, putting the light source at a useful height above low planting. Known in US terms as a landscape spike or pathway light, it directs a focused pool of light wherever the spike is pushed into position.
This fitting suits garden borders, flower beds, shrubs and pathway edges, where it can graze foliage or pick out a feature plant. Because the lamp choice is open, the brightness and tone are set by the bulb you fit rather than the fixture, which makes it easy to match across a planting scheme. The spike places the light at the top of the planting line, so coverage is best thought of as a directed accent rather than broad area lighting. Group several along a path or bed to build a line of marker points, and angle the head to throw light along the ground or up into nearby planting.
The body is aluminium alloy in an anthracite finish, chosen to recede against soil and greenery while resisting outdoor conditions. Its IP44 rating makes it splash-resistant and suited to covered or sheltered spots such as a porch surround or a carport edge, though it should be kept clear of fully exposed positions, direct water jets and standing water. The spike is staked directly into soil or a border, and the E27 cap accepts a standard screw-fit lamp. The unit weighs 870 g, giving it enough mass to stay firmly planted once seated.

Frequently Asked
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
Yes, within limits. The IP44 rating makes it splash-resistant and suitable for sheltered or covered outdoor positions such as a porch or carport edge. Keep it out of fully exposed spots, direct water jets and standing water.
Does it run on mains or a transformer?
It runs directly on 220-240V AC mains through its E27 lampholder, so no separate low-voltage transformer is required. A standard screw-fit lamp connects straight into the cap.
Is a bulb included?
No bulb is supplied. The E27 cap accepts GLS, CFL or LED lamps up to a maximum of 11W, so you can choose the brightness and colour temperature to suit your planting scheme.
How do I clean it?
Wipe the anthracite aluminium body with a soft, damp cloth after disconnecting the power, and remove any soil splash from around the head. Avoid abrasive cleaners so the finish stays intact.
