Description

The Knightsbridge NETCAT6BK is a UTP CAT6 RJ45 outlet module designed for euro-module grid faceplates, measuring 25mm wide by 50mm high with an 18mm recessed depth. The module features a single RJ45 socket on the front face and IDC (Insulation Displacement Connector) terminals on the rear for terminating CAT6 network cables without stripping individual conductor insulation.

Designed for residential, commercial and office network installations, the module fits into euro-module faceplates alongside other grid modules such as power sockets, HDMI outlets, TV/satellite connections and USB charging ports. This allows mixed-function wall plates to be configured to suit specific room requirements. The 25mm minimum mounting box depth makes the module compatible with standard UK back boxes without needing deeper cavity preparation.

The black ABS construction provides a durable housing that resists impact and wear in typical installation environments. The IP20 rating confirms the module is suitable for dry internal locations such as offices, bedrooms, living rooms and home offices. The IDC terminals on the rear accept solid-core CAT6 cable, allowing the installer to punch down conductors using a standard IDC tool following TIA/EIA-568-B wiring standards.

What cable type does this module accept?

The module is designed for UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) CAT6 network cable. The IDC terminals accept solid-core conductors, which are typical in fixed installation CAT6 cable. Stranded cable can be terminated but requires more care during punch-down.

Is this compatible with euro-module grid faceplates?

Yes. The 25x50mm dimensions are the standard euro-module size, allowing this outlet to fit into Knightsbridge grid faceplates and most other manufacturers' euro-module systems. The module clips into the grid frame from behind.

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum mounting box depth is needed. Most standard UK single-gang and multi-gang back boxes provide this depth or greater, making the module compatible with typical residential and commercial installation boxes.

Can this be used for PoE (Power over Ethernet)?

Yes. CAT6 cable and RJ45 outlets support PoE (Power over Ethernet) for devices such as IP cameras, VoIP phones and wireless access points. The module itself is passive and simply provides the connection path for PoE-capable devices and switches.
