Description

The Utah is a rectangular outdoor wall light in sand brown powder-coated aluminium with a frosted white acrylic diffuser panel at the base. The light casts illumination both upward and downward through open top and bottom apertures, creating dual beams that highlight the wall surface and surrounding architectural detail. A single E27 bulb (sold separately) sits inside the metal housing, shielded from weather by the IP65-rated enclosure.

Designed for external walls on patios, porches, garage sides and garden boundaries, the Utah provides functional light for pathways and entrances while acting as an accent fitting on rendered, brick or timber-clad facades. The up/down beam pattern creates vertical bands of light that emphasise wall texture and break up large flat surfaces. The 250mm width and 110mm projection suit narrow alcoves and side walls where a larger fitting would protrude too far.

The sand brown finish is a warm, earthy tone between terracotta and rust, pairing well with natural stone, timber cladding and warm-toned render. The frosted white diffuser panel softens the light output and prevents direct glare when viewed from ground level. The IP65 rating means the fitting is dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction, making it suitable for unsheltered positions exposed to rain and coastal spray.

What bulb does the Utah take?

The fitting takes a standard E27 bulb up to the maximum wattage recommended by Mantra (typically 40-60W for outdoor fittings, but check the label inside the fitting). Most users pair it with a 6-10W LED in warm white (2700-3000K) for outdoor ambience. Bulbs are sold separately.

Can it be used in fully exposed positions?

Yes. The IP65 rating means the fitting is dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction, so it can be installed on unsheltered walls, coastal locations and areas exposed to heavy rain.

Is the Utah dimmable?

The fitting itself is not inherently dimmable. Dimming depends on pairing a dimmable E27 LED bulb with a compatible mains dimmer switch upstream. Most basic outdoor installations do not include dimming.

What mounting height is recommended?

For pathway and entrance lighting, mounting at 1.8-2.2m above ground level provides good coverage without creating glare for people approaching the door. The up/down beam pattern works best when the fitting has clear wall space above and below to project light onto.
