Description

The Urban is a 510mm square flush ceiling light with an 80W integrated LED panel behind a geometric grid diffuser and a white powder-coated metal frame. The remote control allows you to adjust both brightness and colour temperature anywhere between 2700K warm white and 5000K cool daylight, so the same fitting can provide warm ambient light in the evening and cooler task light during the day.

Designed for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and open-plan kitchen-diners where ceiling height is limited or a low-profile fitting is preferred, the Urban sits just 91mm from the ceiling once installed. The 5200-lumen output at full brightness covers approximately 15-20m² of floor area with general ambient light, making it suitable for typical UK living rooms and bedrooms. The 140° beam angle spreads light widely across the ceiling plane, reducing pooling and dark corners.

The grid diffuser is made from white acrylic with a series of raised rectangular channels that create visual texture and soften the LED panel behind. When lit, the grid casts subtle shadow lines onto the diffuser surface itself, giving the fitting more visual interest than a plain flat panel. The white metal frame has chamfered edges that reduce the visual bulk of the fitting and help it sit more quietly on the ceiling in rooms where wall colour contrasts with the white finish.

The remote control stores the last-used brightness and colour temperature setting, so the light returns to that state when switched on at the wall. CCT tuning works in increments rather than a continuous sweep, giving approximately 6-8 preset colour temperatures between the 2700K and 5000K endpoints. The fitting weighs 2.5kg and mounts to a standard UK ceiling rose using the supplied bracket and fixings.

How does the colour temperature control work?

The supplied remote control has buttons to shift the LED panel between 2700K warm white and 5000K cool daylight in preset increments. The fitting stores the last setting, so when you switch the light on at the wall it returns to the same colour temperature you used previously.

What room size does 5200 lumens cover?

At full brightness the Urban provides general ambient light for a room of approximately 15-20m² floor area. For larger rooms or task-heavy spaces you may need a second fitting or supplementary lighting.

Can it be fitted to low ceilings?

Yes. The fitting projects just 91mm from the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3m or lower where a pendant would hang too low or feel visually heavy.

Does the remote require line-of-sight to the fitting?

Point the remote towards the fitting when adjusting settings. If the receiver is obscured the remote may not respond reliably.
