Description

The Twine is a floor lamp built around a natural wood stem rising from a white powder-coated metal base, topped with a height-adjustable fabric shade on a white metal armature. The lamp stands approximately 1500mm tall with a 300mm-diameter circular base, using a single E27 bulb (sold separately) housed within a fabric-covered PVC shade.

Designed as task lighting for reading corners, side-of-sofa positions and home offices, the Twine's adjustable shade slides up or down the wood stem via a brass-bushed collar, allowing the light to be positioned 1200-1600mm from floor level depending on whether the user is seated or standing. The inline switch on the PVC cable removes the need to reach behind furniture or fumble for a wall switch. The 300mm base footprint keeps the lamp stable on rugs and hard floors without needing additional ballast.

The natural wood stem brings warmth and texture to the white metal frame, making the lamp pair comfortably with Scandi, mid-century and contemporary interiors that blend organic materials with clean lines. The fabric shade diffuses the E27 bulb to produce soft, even light rather than a harsh spotlight effect, suitable for ambient or task use depending on bulb choice. The IP20 rating limits the lamp to dry indoor rooms only.

What bulb does it take?

The Twine takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED between 6-12W and 2700K-3000K for reading or ambient light.

How is the shade height adjusted?

The shade assembly slides up or down the wood stem via a brass-bushed collar. Loosen the collar by hand, move the shade to the desired height (typically 1200-1600mm from floor level), then tighten the collar to lock the shade in position.

Is it dimmable?

No. The lamp has a simple inline on/off switch on the cable and does not support dimming. To achieve variable brightness, use a smart bulb with app-based dimming, though this adds cost and complexity.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating limits the Twine to dry indoor rooms only. It is not rated for bathroom zones or outdoor use.
