TURRO LED 45W In-Ground Uplight IP67 Drive-Over - Silver

The TURRO LED is a recessed in-ground light that sits flush with the surface it is set into, drawing 45W to deliver 4000 lumens of crisp 4000K white through a focused 40 degree beam. It is built to throw light upward, grazing a wall, tree trunk or building façade from below rather than spreading a soft wash, so the effect is a defined column of light. In the US this type is generally called an in-grade or well light, recessed into paving, decking or a driveway and walked or driven over rather than mounted above ground.

The round Ø260 fitting suits driveways, paths, courtyards and patios where a fixture standing proud would be in the way, as well as commercial forecourts and entrance approaches. Because it recesses level with the surface it can take foot and vehicle traffic, and its narrow 40 degree beam makes it a tool for uplighting a specific target rather than lighting an open area, so coverage is best judged by what you aim it at, the height of the wall or tree it grazes and how tightly the beam concentrates. Set several in a line to mark a route or pick out a run of planting, spacing them to suit the feature being lit.

Construction is aluminium alloy with a silver finish, rated IP67 for full protection against dust and temporary immersion, so it copes with standing water, heavy rain and burial in the ground. The IK10 impact rating means it withstands being walked over and driven across. It runs directly from 220 to 240V AC mains and is not dimmable, with a rated lifespan of 30,000 hours. Can the TURRO be driven over?

Yes. It is designed to recess flush into paving, decking or a driveway and carries an IK10 impact rating, so it withstands foot traffic and vehicles passing over it. Set it into a properly formed recess so the top sits level with the surrounding surface.

Is it suitable for wet and buried outdoor locations?

Yes. The IP67 rating gives full dust protection and protection against temporary immersion in water, so it handles standing water, heavy rain and being set into the ground. It is well suited to exposed outdoor positions such as driveways, patios and forecourts.

What recess depth and drainage does it need?

The body measures Ø260 by 268mm, so the recess must be deep enough to take the full 268mm depth plus clearance beneath. Provide drainage below the fitting so water does not collect around it, even though the housing itself is IP67 sealed.

Does it run from mains or need a separate transformer?

It runs directly from 220 to 240V AC mains, so no separate low-voltage transformer is required. Wiring should be carried out by a qualified electrician with suitable outdoor-rated supply and isolation.
