Description

The Tube is a 52cm semi-flush ceiling light built around two interlinked metal rings finished in gloss gold, wrapped with an opal silicone tube that houses the integrated LED light source. The rings orbit a central circular backplate in a sculptural double-loop configuration, with the 44W 3000K LED running the full length of both loops to create continuous illumination along each curve.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights from 2.2m upwards, the 22cm projection makes the Tube a suitable option for bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms and hallways where a conventional pendant would hang too low. The semi-flush design sits close enough to the ceiling to avoid head clearance issues while maintaining enough stand-off to cast light outwards and downwards rather than only onto the ceiling surface. Supplied with gravity toggles for ceiling mounting on plasterboard or masonry.

The gloss gold finish on the metal rings reflects ambient light differently depending on viewing angle, creating subtle tonal shifts as you move around the room. The opal silicone diffuser softens the LED output to eliminate visible diode points and provide consistent ambient light across the full 52cm diameter. The fitting weighs 1.58kg once installed and operates on standard 230V UK mains at 50Hz, drawing 44W continuously when switched on.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 22cm projection suits rooms with ceiling heights from 2.2m upwards. In a typical 2.4m-height room the fitting sits approximately 2.18m above floor level, providing adequate head clearance while keeping the light source close enough to the ceiling to function as ambient rather than task lighting.

Can the LED be replaced when it fails?

No. The LED is integrated into the silicone tube and is not user-replaceable. Rated lifespan is 25,000+ hours, equivalent to approximately 15-20 years at typical residential use (4 hours per day). When the LED reaches end-of-life the entire fitting would need replacing.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the Tube is suitable for dry indoor locations only. It does not carry the IP44 or IP65 protection required for bathroom zones or other moisture-prone areas.
