Description

The Truro Stripe cushion is a 45 x 45cm square in pure cotton, worked as a narrow yarn-dyed stripe over a slub-textured ground. Yarn-dyed means the threads are coloured before weaving rather than printed afterwards, so the soft beige stripe runs right through the cloth and the pattern reads the same on both faces. The slub in the weave gives the surface a gently uneven, handloom-like character rather than a flat finish, which is what stops a simple stripe from looking clinical.

At 45 x 45cm this is the standard square that most sofas and armchairs are cushioned around, so it sits happily two or three along a three-seater or singly on a bedroom chair. The pale, chalky palette suits a relaxed, coastal-leaning scheme and layers easily with other natural, earthy tones.
