The Trosvelle is a pendant light with a barrel-shaped cage of black steel strips, hung on a slim black cord from a round black ceiling canopy. It is 110cm tall overall and 32.5cm in diameter, a generous size that holds its own over a dining table. Inside the cage sits an E27 lampholder that takes a bulb up to 40W, and the bulb is not included, so you choose the one that suits your room. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors and somewhere dry, never a bathroom or anywhere damp.

We think it looks its best above a dining table, where the open cage gives the space a focal point without closing off the view across the room. The strips leave gaps between them, so the bulb stays on show, and a decorative globe or filament bulb makes a real difference to the look.
