The Trismelle is a compact bronze wall light with the look of a small spotlight: a fluted cylindrical head on a short arm, set against a round backplate. The body is aluminium and steel. The whole light is 10.5cm long and 11cm high, and it stands 12.5cm out from the wall, so it sits neatly beside a bed or a chair without crowding the space. It takes a single GU10 bulb of up to 5W, which is not included, so you choose the colour of light yourself. It is rated IP20, which means it belongs indoors in a dry room.

Because the head is adjustable, this is a light you point where you need it. Angle it across a page as a reading light by the bed, down onto a shelf or sideboard, or onto a picture or a patterned wallpaper to pick out its detail. The rocker switch on the backplate lets you turn it on and off from your bed or armchair. That suits a bedroom, a snug or a study corner where the main switch sits across the room. A pair either side of a bed works well, and the fluted head adds a quiet bit of detail to a plain wall.

The fluting runs the full height of the head and ends in a ridged rim, with a darker inner ring framing the bulb, while the backplate is smooth and plain. The bronze has a soft metallic sheen that sits well beside warm woods, brass and natural linen. The light runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains and weighs 0.483KG packed. As a mains light, it should be installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. Pick up a GU10 bulb of up to 5W at the same time, since one is not in the box.
