Description

The Trilvelle is a slim bollard light for the garden: a black aluminium post, 110cm tall and just 7.5cm across, topped with a ribbed smoked shade under a flat black cap. It takes a single E27 bulb, which is not included, so you choose the brightness and colour of the light yourself. With an IP54 rating it is protected from dust and splashing water, which means it can stand outdoors in borders, on lawns and beside paths.

Because the post is so narrow, it sits quietly along a path, at the edge of a lawn or beside a terrace without taking up planting space. The ribbed smoked shade softens the bulb, so the glow reads as a gentle marker light rather than a bare point of brightness. Set a few along a driveway or garden walk and you have a clear guide after dark that still looks tidy in daylight, when the black finish settles comfortably beside planting and stone. We think it suits modern homes best, where its clean lines match render, paving and large windows.

The body is aluminium with plastic parts and the shade is plastic, and the whole light weighs just 1.18KG. It runs on mains power at 220 to 240V, 50/60Hz, and has no switch of its own, so it is switched at the wall. As a wired mains light it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a PDF download. One practical point: order an E27 bulb at the same time, because the light takes one but none comes in the box.
