Description
The Triax is a triangular outdoor LED wall light with a faceted geometric form that projects light through angled faces cut into a sand white powder-coated aluminium housing. An integrated 8W LED behind the triangular aperture delivers 750 lumens at 3000K across a 100° beam angle, casting warm white light onto adjacent walls and pathways.
Designed for exterior wall mounting on porches, garages, garden walls and contemporary building facades, the Triax measures 170mm square by 75mm projection from the wall. The IP54 rating protects internal components against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making the fitting suitable for exposed positions under eaves or on open walls. The non-dimmable LED is powered directly from mains 220-240V supply and requires no separate driver or control gear.
The sand white finish provides a neutral tone that sits comfortably against rendered, painted or light-coloured masonry without creating harsh contrast. The triangular cut-out geometry creates a defined pattern of light and shadow on the mounting surface when lit, particularly visible on smooth walls after dark. At 0.56kg the fitting is light enough to be fixed with standard masonry anchors on brick, block or concrete substrates.
The Triax is part of Mantra's architectural outdoor range and pairs with other geometric wall lights from the same collection for repeated installations along building elevations or boundary walls. The integrated LED has an expected lifespan of 25,000 hours at typical outdoor duty cycles, equivalent to approximately 10 years at 7 hours per night.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP54 rating mean for outdoor use?
IP54 indicates protection against dust ingress (limited, but not harmful amounts) and water splashes from any direction. The Triax can be installed on exposed exterior walls, under eaves, or on porches where it may encounter rain splash. It is not rated for direct water jets or submersion.
Is the LED replaceable?
No. The 8W LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The LED has an expected lifespan of 25,000 hours, equivalent to approximately 10 years at typical outdoor use (7 hours per night). After this period the entire fitting would need replacement.
Can the Triax be dimmed?
No. The integrated LED operates at fixed output and is not compatible with dimmer switches or controls. It switches on to full 750lm output when powered.
What surface does it fix to?
The Triax fixes to brick, block, concrete, rendered or timber-clad exterior walls using standard masonry anchors or wood screws. The 170mm square backplate covers the mounting points and cable entry. A qualified electrician should complete the installation to ensure weatherproof sealing of cable entries.
